A travelling exhibition, aimed at spreading the knowledge of the enormous contribution provided by the Italian Army during WWI will be set up in the upcoming days on the occasion of the Great War centenary.
The following calendar is the programme of the exhibition, organized by the Military Command of the Italian Army “Calabria” and covering the five provinces of our region:
From Tuesday, Septmber 22 to Friday, October 2: the exhibition will be held in CROTONE – Palazzo Baracco (Mack – Museum of Contemporary Art of Crotone);
From Tuesday, October 6 to Friday, October 16: exhibition will be held in COSENZA – Complesso San Domenico (Former Military District);
From Tuesday, October 20 to Friday, October 30: exhibition will be held in VIBO VALENTIA – Convitto Filangeri;
From Tuesday, November 4 to November 20: exhibition will be held in CATANZARO – Military Historical Museum;
From Tuesday, November 24 to Friday, December 4: exhibition will be held in REGGIO CALABRIA – Palazzo della Provincia (Offices of the Provincial Council).
On September 22, at 10.00 am, the MACK (Palazzo Baracco, 20 Piazza Castello) will host the opening ceremony of the Great War exhibition. The civil, military and ecclesiastical authorities will attend, as well as a delegation of students from Crotone. The following schedule is the programme of the day:
10.00 am: opening speech of General B. Vito DELL’EDERA, Head of the Military Command “Calabria” Calabria;
10.05 am: historical outlines of the period provided by General D. (aus.) Pasquale MARTINELLO;
10.30 am: inauguration of the exhibition;
11.00 am: screening of “Fango e Gloria”, a historical film in two parts (30′ of fiction, 60′ of documentary footage). The event will be under the aegis of the Ministry of Defense
From September 23 to October 2, the exhibition will be open to the public Monday through Friday from 9.00 am to 12.30 pm.
