From the 14th to the 16th of July 2016, in Portigliola (Reggio Calabria), at the Greek-Roman Theatre in the Archaeological Park of Locri-Epizefiri, is the celebration of the 5th Festival of Archaeological Films.
The initiative, dedicated to the theme of archaeological films, also created in collaboration with the Foundation of the Civic Museum of Rovereto (Trento), is sponsored by the City of Portigliola and the National Archaeological Museum of Locri, Museums centers of Calabria.

9:30 pm: screening of the film The shipbuilders. The Mycenaeans
10:00 pm: Conversation on the topic from Mycenaeans to the western Greeks, with Paola Colace, professor UniMe and Giulio Facchetti teacher UNINSUBRIA.
Followed immediately after by the screening of the film, The Great Empires of History: Ancient Greece.

6:00 pm: Round table on Management and enhancement of archaeological sites and the MiBACT reform. The work will be introduced by Giovanni Calabrese, Mayor of Locri; Rocco Luglio, Mayor of Portigliola and Rossella Agostino, director of the National Archaeological Museum of Locri. Followed by a talk by Salvatore Patamia, director of MiBACT Regional Secretariat for Calabria; Angela Tecce, director of the Museum centers of Calabria; Valentino Nizzo, MiBACT – General Museums Directorate. Closing comments by Dorina Bianchi, Secretary of State at the Ministry of goods and cultural activities and tourism.
10:00 pm – Conversation on theme of Archaeology and the contemporary world, with Rossella Agostino, director of the National Archaeological Museum of Locri; Angela Tecce, director of the Museum centers of Calabria; Valentino Nizzo, MiBACT – General Museums Directorate; Rocco Luglio, mayor of Portigliola mayor.
Following the screening of the film The Battle of Kadesh.

9:30 pm: film screening Introduction Diocese Restorations of Locri – Gerace.
10:00 pm: Talk on history, art and restoration work in the diocese of Locri – Gerace, with Giuseppe Mantella, restorer; Lorenzo Riccardi, a researcher for UniSapienza; Domenico Minuto, member of the Deputation of National History for Calabria.
Following the screening of the the film Saints Bankers Kings.
As part of the three evenings, there will be presented an award to Professor Domenico Minuto for research and study on the Calabrian heritage during the Byzantine period.
