Director of the RC archaeological museum awarded the prize “Bergamotto d’oro 2015/2016”

Carmelo Malacrino, director of the Archaeological Museum of Reggio Calabria, wins the award 2015/2016 “Bergamotto d’oro.”

Established by the Lions Club of Reggio Calabria Host in 1959, the prize consisting of a gold bergamot and a diploma on parchment paper, is a prestigious recognition given to Calabrian citizens who have distinguished themselves for “excellence in endeavors, importance of initiatives or the fame of their personality.” Behind the decision was the cultural merit ascribed to the assiduous work of the new, young director of the Museum who, in just a few short months, has allowed the city of the Strait to regain possession of its immense historical, artistic and cultural heritage. The ceremony is scheduled today at 6:00pm in the conference hall of the Museum of Reggio Calabria.
