Despite the sporting event being held in Catanzaro, it was an especially big party for the city of Crotone. Beginning with the success achieved by Enzo Foglia, Italian Master Champion both for 2014 and 2015, who recorded the best score among all 200 athletes present (belonging to about 13 different swim teams), with best finish in the 100 meters breaststroke and 50 meters breaststroke.

Foglia, from Crotone, swimming for Flaminia Nuoto Rome, earned almost two thousand points in just one swim meet. Incredible numbers.

The team from Crotone stood on the podium in Catanzaro as well as athletes from Lacinia. The Crotonian swim club was ranked second in overall standings.

For Lacinia, Salvatore Sinopoli, in the 200m medley, Master 65, just missed the Italian record in this category by only a second and a half. A great performance for an athlete who travels for years at the top of the national rankings and who still boasts the Italian record in the 50M butterfly. Even Daniele Paonessa, M65, expressed his undisputed qualities in the 200m freestyle where he is still the strongest in Italy having won just a few months ago the title of Italian Champion. Also for Paonessa two records at regionals in the 200m freestyle and 400m freestyle. But in general are multiple affirmations Lacinian swimmers. Mario Riolo, M50, won a bronze in the 200 freestyle and fourth place in the 400m freestyle, Paonessa won both the 400m the 200m freestyle, with a Regional Record, Senator Antonio Pignata M75, a gold in the 400m and 200m freestyle, Giorgio Tutone won first in the 100m butterfly and fourth in the 50m freestyle, Adolfo Scicchitato captured first and second place respectively in the 100m and 50m backstroke, Francesco Garofalo M60, was first in the 100m breaststroke and in the 100m medley, and daughter Agnese M30 won a gold in the 200m freestyle and a silver in the 50m freestyle. Excellent performance by Gabriella Calvo M55 who collected a silver in the 50m freestyle and a bronze in the 50m breaststroke.

Salvatore Sinopoli has, as always, imposed his class by winning both the 50m backstroke the 200m medley, winning two Regional Records but also, as already mentioned before, approaching the Italian record of 200 mixed. Luke Vrenna M35 ruled his opponents in the 200m freestyle and 400 mx with two wins. Same thing that Antonio Rodio M45 did in the 200m backstroke which 200m freestyle, with new Regional Records. Debuting for the Master 35, was Manuela Cardone who competed in the 100m and 200m freestyle with two first places, while Francesca Alosa M35 won the 50m breaststroke and won silver in the 100m freestyle.
