The Calabrian wines awarded by Good Wines of Italy Guide 2017, published by the Italian Touring Club

The “Hotel San Lorenzo si alberga” of Camigliatello Silano who will host the presentation of the Guide of Good Wines of Italy, 2017, published by the Italian Touring Club.

In the heart of Sila, Cosenza on Thursday, March 16th at 6pm, we’ll find the Calabrian producers and wine lovers, along with journalists and industry professionals, to hear directly from the national curators of the publication dedicated to wines from native grapes, as well as the impressions and evolution of regional wines which for a while now have achieved great success. The growth of Calabrian viniculture is under the careful eye of everyone as is the return to territorial identity which has provided more and more productions conscious of the rediscovery of native vines and environmental sustainability.

Attending the the presentation of the guide will be Mario Busso, national editor of Vini Buoni d’Italia (Good Wines of Italy), Umberto Gambino, regional coordinator, Gennaro Convertini, President of regional wine bars, Raffaele Librandi, chairman of the consortium for Cirò and Melissa, Demetrio Stancati, President of the consortium Terre of Cosenza, and Raffaele Riga, consul to the Italian Touring Club of Cosenza.

During the evening awards will be given: the “Corona,” “Golden Star” and “Oggi la Corona la decido io” [Today I decide the crown], which the guide has awarded to companies with Calabrian wines that stood out because they express elegance, finesse, balance, quality and precise expression of the variety and territory in which they come from.

Labels will be available for tasting during the evening event which concludes with a gourmet dinner, (by reservation 0984 570 809 – Cost € 50) by chefs Lecce Emanuele and Antonio Biafora, two young Silanese chefs participating in the culinary format Cooking Soon born to emphasize the creative fermentation in progress and who wish to define paths never taken yet in the region, tying tradition to innovation and culinary production.
