Il Premio Pitagora diventa un evento culturale. L’iniziativa dedicata alla figura più rappresentativa della città, che fino a qualche anno fa aveva un posto di rilievo internazionale tra le manifestazioni di carattere scientifico, cambia volto e si trasforma in un evento culturale dedicato all’arte.
Un evento inserito dal Comune di Crotone nell’ambito della programmazione Pisu, che intende celebrare la figura di Pitagora attraverso le opere di quattro artisti di fama internazionale, ai quali è stato chiesto di approfondire gli aspetti del pensiero pitagorico attraverso i linguaggi contemporanei. Il premio consiste dunque nelle opere realizzate dagli artisti e che resteranno patrimonio della città di Crotone.
Gli artisti sono Simone Fugazzotto che vive e lavora tra Milano e New York, Federico Paris, pittore e scultore, Beatrice Zagato pittrice e fotografa e Federico Clapis, attore, poeta e pittore. Le opere sono inserite nella mostra “Pitagora Docet” a cura di Serena Baccaglini e di Monica Burian che aprirà i battenti presso il Parco Pitagora in occasione del premio, che si terrà il 7 ottobre prossimo a partire dalle ore 17.00 nel parco intitolato proprio a Pitagora.
“Con l’esposizione ‘Pitagora Docet’ – si legge in una nota del Comune – il museo Pitagora vuole affrontare attraverso i linguaggi contemporanei di quattro grandi artisti i differenti aspetti del complesso del pensiero pitagorico a dimostrazione di come attraverso i secoli lo stesso mantenga una propria attualità che continua a coinvolgere ed affascinare”.
The Pythagoras Prize becomes a cultural event. The initiative dedicated to one of the most notable personalities from Crotone, which used to be an internationally renowned scientific event, has now gone cultural and is dedicated to art.
The Township of Crotone has recently added the event to the Pisu programme, aimed at celebrating the figure of Pythagoras with works realized by four internationally acclaimed artists, who were asked to convey the basic principles of Pythagoras’ philosophy through contemporary artistic codes. Thus, these creations will be the heart and soul of the prize, officially entering the city’s artistic patrimony.
The commissioned artists are: Simone Fugazzotto (who lives and works between Milan and New York), the painter and sculptor Federico Paris, the painter and photographer Beatrice Zagato and the actor, poet and painter Federico Clapis. Their works will be part of an exhibition titled “Pythagoras docet”, curated by Serena Baccaglini and Monica Burian, which will open at the same time as the Pythagoras Prize event, at 5 pm on October 7. The chosen venue will be, quite appropriately, the Pythagoras Park.
