Approda all’estero la mostra itinerante “Scie. Residui di vite incrociate” dell’artista calabrese
Tracce di esistenza che lasciano il segno, attimi di vita resi eterni dall’obiettivo fotografico, storie di un tempo minimo e infinito.
È questa la materia prima di “Scie – residui di vite incrociate”, il progetto fotografico di Giancarlo Colloca, giovane artista e musicista calabrese, di Paravati in provincia di Vibo Valentia, “nato e cresciuto davanti alla bellezza del mare e della natura”, da sempre interessato all’arte, tanto da cimentarsi in diverse forme: disegno, pittura e appunto fotografia.
E proprio la sua passione per la fotografia lo ha portato a realizzare un progetto di street photography che è divenuto una mostra itinerante, da cui è nato anche un contest.
Per Giancarlo “il puntino temporale dell’istante dello scatto è un estratto dalla linea della vita che il soggetto sta disegnando lungo il mondo, con i suoi dinamismi e i suoi sentimenti. Quante linee si incrociano, si sovrappongono, si muovono insieme, si allontanano”. La vita stessa ci costringe; così gli altri lasciano tracce del loro passaggio sul nostro percorso: “di qualcuno ci rimarranno accesi colori indelebili, o profondi solchi scuri; qualcuno passa come una delicata carezza, altri li dimentichiamo, o non li abbiamo mai nemmeno notati”.
Queste scie sono fermo immagini che raccontano una storia, una storia che non è mai la stessa. Giancarlo Colloca consegna con le sue fotografie all’osservatore un frammento del tutto, che “diventa punto di partenza verso altri percorsi, altre direzioni, verso vita nuova”. Così l’osservatore, con le proprie impressioni, i propri ricordi, con la lettura che attribuisce all’istante immortalato, diventa artefice di una storia singolare, unica. “Nella mia ricerca fotografica – afferma – c’è la voglia di percepire il più possibile il mondo, di farlo mio nei dettagli e nell’astrazione e decodificazione dei sistemi che lo reggono, sia nella quotidianità delle piccole cose che nella novità della vita che scopro nei miei viaggi”.
Dopo le prime tappe in Calabria e in Sicilia, è nata la versione in lingua inglese del progetto, approdato, tra giugno e luglio scorsi, a San Pietroburgo, presso la Biblioteca Gogol, e che il prossimo settembre, giungerà a Lugano al Fingy’s Art & Food.
In questi giorni, e fino al 18 agosto, è possibile ammirare le foto di Colloca anche in Calabria, a Sant’Andrea Apostolo dello Ionio, presso l’Auditorium Comunale (dalle ore 19.00 alle 23.00), nell’ambito della collettiva “Insegui l’Arte” organizzata dell’associazione Primavera Andreolese. La prossima tappa italiana sarà Perugia, al Caffè Morlacchi, nel mese di settembre.
Mentre la mostra continua a girare in l’Italia e all’estero, Giancarlo prosegue la sua ricerca, lo fa anche attraverso la musica, la scrittura, l’arte teatrale. Ha all’attivo due riconoscimenti in concorsi fotografici, e la copertina di un libro per una casa editrice americana.
L’idea del contest “Scegli la tua foto e falla tua“ è stata molto apprezzata, non solo tra i giovanissimi. Un mezzo attraverso il quale il visitatore della mostra fotografica diventa soggetto attivo, scegliendo l’immagine che preferisce e creando attorno a questa una short story (massimo 150 caratteri) da pubblicare e condividere sulla fan page del progetto (facebook.com/scieincrociate/info). La storia più apprezzata, che quindi riceve più “like”, si aggiudica a fine mostra la stampa della fotografia scelta.

Traces of existence that leave signs, fragments of life made eternal by the camera eye, stories of a minimal infinite time.
This is the raw material of which the exhibition is made, a photographic project by Giancarlo Colloca, a young Calabrian artist and musician from Paravati (province of Vibo Valentia), born and grown amidst the beauty of the sea and nature, motivated by a lifelong passion for art which has led him to measure himself with different means of expression: painting, drawing and photography.
It was his passion for photography that convinced him to undertake a project of street photography, that has now become a travelling exhibition and led to the institution of a contest.
According to Giancarlo: “the time dot to which the instant when a picture is taken can be reduced is nothing other than a fragment from the line of life, drawn by the picture subject along its path through the world in response to its own vibes and momentum. These lines cross and overlap one another; they move in unison for a while and then go each their own way”. It is life itself that determines our route; following this mechanism, the others leave traces of their passage on the path that lie before us: “some people will remain engraved in our minds because of their indelible bright colours, others will leave a dark streak behind them; some people are like a gentle caress, others will either be forgotten or even go unnoticed”.
These trails are frozen frames that tell a story, and their narrative is never the same. With his photographs, Giancarlo Colloca regales his audience with a fragment of the whole, a “starting point towards new routes, new destinations and a new life”. By virtue of their own perceptions and memories, the observers become the creators of a personal, unique story, which arises from their own interpretation of the moment captured by the picture. “In my photographic research lies the need to perceive the world in its entirety, the desire to make it my own in all its details through a process of abstraction and decoding of the rules governing it: a principle that applies to both the small things of everyday routine and the novelties of life discovered during my travels”.
After two legs in Calabria and Sicily, the English version of the project has been inaugurated: it was brought to the Gogol Library of Saint Peterburg from June to July and it is going to reach the Fingy’s Art and Food of Lugnano in September.
In these days, until August 18th, Colloca’s photos can be admired in Calabria too: they are presently on display at the Auditorium Comunale of Sant’Andrea Apostolo dello Ionio from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. as part of the initiative “Insegui l’arte” promoted by the association Primavera Andreolese. The next Italian stage will be the Caffè Morlacchi of Perugia, which will host the exhibition in September.
While his works are on display in Italy and abroad, Giancarlo keeps on with his research, by means of photography as well as music, writing and theatre performances. His curriculum includes the awards of two photographic contests and the cover of a book by an American publisher.
The idea of the contest “Scegli la tua foto e falla tua” – “Choose a picture and make it yours” – has been widely appreciated, not only by young people. It is a way for visitors of the exhibition to become active participants by choosing their favourite image and creating a short story about it (no more than 150 types) that can be published and shared on the fan page of the project (facebook.com/scieincrociate/info). The most popular story (namely, the one that gets more thumbs up) will its creator the print of the chosen picture once the exhibition has closed.

Traces d’existence qui laissent une marque, instants de vies devenus éternels grâce à l’objectif du photographe, histoires d’un temps minimum et infini.
Tout ceci compose la matière première de “Scie – residui di vite incrociate”, le projet photographique de Giancarlo Colloca, jeune artiste et musicien calabrais, de Paravati (province de Vibo Valentia), “qui est né et qui a grandi devant les beautés de la mer et de la nature”, depuis toujours attiré par l’art : dessin, peinture et photographie.
C’est justement sa passion pour la photo qui l’a mené à réaliser un projet de street photography qui est devenu une exposition itinérante de laquelle est né un défi.
Pour Giancarlo, “le petit point temporel de l’instant du déclic est un extrait de la ligne de la vie que le sujet est en train de dessiner avec ses dynamismes et ses sentiments. Ces lignes s’entremêlent, se superposent, bougent ensemble, s’éloignent”. La vie même nous poussent ; ainsi les autres laissent des traces de leur passage sur notre parcours : “de quelqu’un, il nous restera des couleurs fortes indélébiles ou de profonds sillons obscurs : d’un autre une délicate caresse, et d’autres encore nous les oublions ou nous ne les avons pas même remarqués”.
Ces traces sont des images fixes qui racontent une histoire, une histoire qui n’est jamais la même. Giancarlo Colloca livre à travers ses photographies un fragment du tout qui “devient un point de départ vers d’autres parcours, d’autres directions, vers une vie nouvelle”. Ainsi, l’observateur, à travers ses impressions, ses souvenirs, la lecture qu’il attribue à l’instant immortalisé, devient l’auteur d’une histoire singulière, unique. “A l’intérieur de ma recherche photographique – afferme-t-il – il y a l’envie de percevoir le plus possible le monde, de le faire mien dans les moindres détails et dans l’abstraction et la décodification des systèmes qui le régissent à travers le quotidien des petites choses et la nouveauté de la vie que je découvre lors de mes voyages”.
Après les premières étapes en Calabre et en Sicile, est née la version en langue anglaise du projet, amarré entre juin et juillet derniers à Saint-Pétersbourg, au sein de la Bibliothèque Gogol, et qui en septembre prochain, sera à Lugano au Fingy’s Art & Food.
Ces jours-ci et jusqu’au 18 août, il est possible d’admirer les photos de Colloca en Calabre aussi, à Sant’Andrea Apostolo dello Ionio, à l’Auditorium municipal (de 19h à 23h), dans le cadre d’une expo collective “Insegui l’Arte” organisée par l’association Primavera Andreolese. La prochaine étape italienne sera à Pérouse, au Caffè Morlacchi, au mois de septembre.
Pendant que l’exposition continue à tourner en Italie et à l’étranger, Giancarlo poursuit sa recherche à travers l’écriture, la musique et le théâtre. Il a à son actif deux prix reçus lors de concours photographiques et la couverture d’un livre d’une maison d’édition américaine.

L’auteur de l’histoire la plus appréciée, c’est-à-dire celle qui obtiendra le plus de “j’aime” remportera la photographie choisie à la fin de l’exposition.

Это сырой материал “Следы – остатки пересекающихся жизней”, фотографический проект по Джанкарло Кололла, молодого художника и музыканта из калабрийской Паравати в провинции Вибо Валентия, “родился и вырос в красоте моря и природы” всегда был заинтересован в искусстве, чтобы участвовать в различных формах: рисунок, живопись и фотографии.
И его страсть к фотографии привела его провести проект уличной фотографии, которая стала передвижная выставка, которая также привела к конкурсу.
