Everything is set for the third edition of the “Marathon of the Aragonese” which will take place on June 12th starting in Castrovillari. The initiative was agreed upon by representatives of all the agencies for the Circuit of the Natural Parks that participate in the “Parks Competition” with ASD Cycling Castrovillari and the Italian Cycling Federation.
Three types of routes for participants with different itineraries: the 62 kilometer Marathon at an altitude of more than 2000 meters; the Gran Fondo of 47 kilometers over 1700 meters above sea level; and 27 kilometer l’Escursionistico, 950 meters above sea level. All for the pleasure of those who want to “dive” into the green area of this zone, which lend itself to any kind of excursion.
The cycling event, organized with the help of the Pollino National Park and sponsored by the municipalities of Castrovillari, Civita and Frascineto, requires a structured program that will begin the morning of Saturday June 11th with initiatives re “riding” and “walking,” titled “Waiting for the Marathon” to discover or rediscover the Pollino Territory, rich in environmental-tourist itineraries.

In the afternoon of the same day, the visits deal more specifically with, “the scenery and sounds of the Pollino” amongst the beautiful walking trails and live music.
